Hommerson Casino has been supporting ADO Den Haag for more than twenty years. “But we don’t do that alone,” says Remco van den Berg of Hommerson. “ADO Den Haag cannot exist without its supporters and volunteers. Those are the real heroes of the club.” Together with ADO Den Haag, they called on the public to nominate a person with a large yellow-green heart who would Hommerson Club hero being put in the spotlight.
The first person to receive this honorary title is former referee Henk Martin. Most people nominated him as Club Hero. That is not surprising: together with Henk Ebben, Henk has fulfilled the role of coordinator for the ball boys of ADO Den Haag for more than 30 years!
A special ceremony
A special evening was organized to honor Henk. “He was unexpectedly picked up at home and taken by limousine to the ADO The Hague stadium, where he watched ADO’s home match from one of the field seats was allowed to attend,” says Remco.
This was followed by the presentation of the Hommerson Clubheld Award in the stadium, ending with a pleasant evening at Hommerson Casino. During the presentation, Henk dedicated the Hommerson Clubheld Award to his grandson Dani, who died of cancer two years ago.
