The eight-time ice hockey champion Adler Mannheim will focus on sustainable merchandising in the future.

As part of the FAIR WEAR WORKS project, the club from the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) is cooperating with the environmental protection organization Global Nature Fund (GNF) and the women’s rights organization FEMNET to positively influence working conditions and environmental impacts along the supply chain of its merchandising products.

“Sustainability is not a trend, but a global issue,” said Dominik Dobiasch, Head of Merchandising at Adler: “We are trying to implement this task as best we can. However, there are still many hurdles that need to be overcome, such as the lack of transparency.”

In order to overcome these challenges, Mannheimer, GNF and FEMNET examine the various textile labels and certifications and take ecological and social standards into account when procuring products for eco-fairly produced merchandising.
