Herzogenaurach (dpa) – After FIFA and UEFA, the sporting goods manufacturer Adidas is also reacting to the Russian attack on Ukraine.
The sporting goods manufacturer is suspending its partnership with the Russian Football Association RFS with immediate effect, the company announced.
Adidas and the association have been partners since 2008. The sporting goods manufacturer based in Herzogenaurach, Franconia, has been making the jerseys for the men’s and women’s national teams ever since. The partnership was extended in 2018. An Adidas spokesman initially left open the concrete consequences of the suspension of the partnership.
The world football association FIFA and the European football union UEFA had suspended Russia from all competitions the day before because of the invasion of Ukraine. This applies to both national teams and Russian clubs.
