Adidas and Prada have teamed up for a new collaboration that includes apparel, accessories and bags for the first time.
In this collaboration, however, not only the sportswear of the Herzogenaurach-based company meets the craftsmanship of the Italian fashion house, the focus is also on sustainability, both brands announced on Wednesday. The result is the Adidas for Prada Re-Nylon collection.
Prada uses recycled nylon
As the title of the collection already suggests, the Re-nylon fabric by Prada plays an important role in the pieces. The fabric, which has been used in Prada products since 2019, is recycled from plastic waste from the oceans and textile fiber waste. According to Milan, Prada had switched its nylon production to the more sustainable alternative by the end of last year.
All pieces in the current collection that are made by the fashion house in Italy also rely on the material. This includes a coat, a tracksuit, a sweater, a hooded jacket and a bucket hat. There are also various bags and rucksacks to match. The collaboration is rounded off by the branding of both brands with the Prada triangle logo and the three stripes by Adidas.
Adidas Forum by Prada
Of course, shoes should not be missing from this capsule either. This time the choice fell on the Adidas Forum – as high and low silhouette – which the sporting goods manufacturer is currently reviving with various colourways and collaborations. Here, too, Prada Re-Nylon is used. A special detail is the detachable Prada mini bag, which the label has already used on various items of clothing and accessories. Both models are available in monochrome black and white.
The Adidas for Prada Re-Nylon collection will be available from January 13th in Prada stores and online at prada.com and adidas.com/prada. To celebrate the new collection, the labels invite fans to participate in an open source co-creation in the Metaverse.
