Adidas part ways with Kanye “Ye” West. The cooperation has ended with immediate effect, the sports goods manufacturer from Herzogenaurach announced on Tuesday.
Already in the middle of the month, AG Adidas announced a review of the collaboration with the rapper and has now come to the decision to end it. As a result, the production of Yeezy products, for which the company owns the sole design rights, and all payments to Ye will also be stopped, the statement said. Adidas expects the end of the collaboration to have a negative impact of up to 250 million euros on its 2022 net profit.
Adidas comments on allegations of racism
“Adidas does not condone anti-Semitism or any other form of hate speech. Ye’s recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, and violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness,” it said, referring to the rapper’s anti-Semitic comments on social media.
The news comes just days after Balenciaga also announced that she would no longer be working with the rapper.
