Adidas helps intimidated gym-goers find the right companion via Bumble.
The German sporting goods provider wants to counteract the fear of embarrassing yourself during training. Together with the US dating and networking app Bumble, he has developed a ‘Gym Buddy’ sticker for the application, Adidas announced on Monday. Like-minded people should be able to find and support each other in this way.
‘Gymtimidation’ describes the concerns of younger generations about being judged or even laughed at by other visitors in the gym. In a study commissioned by Adidas, the majority of those surveyed cited training partners as a remedy. Stickers in the Bumble app are now intended to make networking easier and bring together athletes who want to enjoy the supportive togetherness in the studio and benefit from training together.
In addition, the ‘Strength’ collection for the spring/summer 2024 season of Adidas’ training line is intended to ensure self-confidence and freedom of movement during sports. The ‘Dropset 2’ training shoes, a sports bra or leggings in bright colors form the basis of the capsule.
The ‘Gym Buddy’ sticker can be downloaded from the Bumble website. Adidas’ ‘Strength’ collection is available in selected stores or the brand’s online shop, with training shoes priced at 130 euros, the sports bra at 85 euros and the leggings at 80 euros.
