The football club Delay Sports Berlin has secured well-known support. Although its first men’s team only competes in district league B, the amateur club founded in 2021 has now concluded a supplier partnership with Adidas and 11Teamsports.
The background is the immense social media presence of the association, whose founders include the influencers and entrepreneurs Elias Nerlich and Sidney Friede. With “almost 600,000 followers on Instagram,” Delay Sports “far exceeds the reach of numerous professional clubs on the channel,” explained 11Teamsports in a statement published on Friday. As part of the collaboration, the football outfitter will now provide the club with Adidas jerseys and teamwear from the 2023/24 season.
A result of the collaboration is the new Delay Sports home kit, designed by player Alieu Sawaneh. After the “limited presale” started on Saturday in the Berlin store of 11Teamsports, the shirts are now also regularly available in the online shop of the sporting goods supplier.
Marc Meurer, Senior Director Brand Marketing at 11Teamsports, explained the background to the partnership: “The connection between 11Teamsports, Adidas and Delay Sports is perfect! This is where our different business approaches, from amateur to professional to community, merge into a single team”. he explained in a statement. “We are pleased to be able to accompany Delay Sports on its path together with Adidas.” The club has “a unique appeal – especially in amateur football,” emphasized Meurer. “This in turn enables us as 11Teamsports direct access to our target group and the placement of our services.”
