July 15 is the day. “We expect at least 800 visitors,” he says. They are divided into two sessions. In the afternoon there is a junior edition for youth up to 16 years old. In the evening it goes wild for youth from 16 years old. “You don’t enter the grounds younger than that,” says Miranda Hendriks on behalf of ZoDus Live Collective. This organization, which has experience with concerts, festivals and events in Meppel, helps Mats set up the festival.
“We intend to have this festival return annually,” says Podt. Both local and regional artists perform, as well as nationally known artists, he says. He points to ADF Samski, among others. “He’s got over 20 million streams. That’s a big artist.” And he is looking forward to Always Larstig & Rob Gasd’rop. “They know how to throw a party.” It mainly concerns artists from urban tech and hip-hop.
The line-up also includes the upcoming Meppel hip-hop artist Jos De Goat, Meppel rapper Rolex Rooks, Corba & Grooveload from Zwolle and Duivesteijn. For the younger youth, DJ Tjebbe from Meppel, Joyliana, Alessio and Rickieroos play in the afternoon.
