Adeyemi consultant: BVB change “on the home stretch” – contract without an exit clause?

Completion by mid-May?

After the commitments of Nico Schlotterbeck and Niklas Süle, the transfer of another German international to Borussia Dortmund is getting closer. Karim Adeyemi should sign with BVB shortly, reported “sports1” on Tuesday. Completion is expected by the middle of the month. “We are in very good talks with BVB and are turning into the home straight,” confirmed Adeyemi’s advisor Thomas Solomon to the broadcaster.

Most recently, Dortmund’s managing director Hans-Joachim Watzke once again confirmed the great interest in the 20-year-old attacker from Red Bull Salzburg (to the news). According to media reports, the left foot is to receive a contract for a period of five years, which, according to “Sky” and “Sport1”, does not include an exit clause. The working paper of the three-time national player, who is expected to earn more than 6 million euros in the future, at RB runs until June 30, 2024, which is why a fee is due for him.

There are various statements about the amount of the sum, from 30 to 38 million euros. In addition, a further EUR 6 million could be added in the coming years through bonus payments. BVB had paid the highest transfer fee to date in 2019 with 30.5 million euros for Mats Hummels (33). Ousmane Dembélé (24) cost even more with additional payments, as the original fee of €15m after the sale to FC Barcelona rose to €35m through a resale participation. With Salzburg, he would already place himself in first place among the record departures with 30 million euros, on which Patson Daka (23) is with the same amount.

Adeyemi would be the third new signing at BVB after Schlotterbeck & Süle

BVB announced Schlotterbeck’s signing from SC Freiburg on Monday. According to reports, the base fee is 20 million euros, and a further 5 million euros can be added through bonuses. The 22-year-old is the second BVB signing for the coming season after Süle, who comes on a free transfer from FC Bayern Munich. The two central defenders should help to stabilize the shaky defense of Borussia, which has already conceded 50 goals in 32 Bundesliga games. Adeyemi could meanwhile follow Erling Haaland (21), who can leave the black and yellow early due to an exit clause this summer for a reported 75 million euros – a move to Manchester City is considered likely.
