Adele paid tribute to the late Matthew Perry at her concert in Las Vegas. She paused during her gig and spoke into the microphone: “I will remember this character for the rest of my life. “He’s probably the best comedy character of all time,” said the Brit, referring to Chandler Bing, whom Perry played in “Friends.”
Matthew Perry was only 54 years old – the actor who became world famous through “Friends” in the 1990s died on October 28th at his home in Los Angeles. The specific circumstances are currently unknown.
Many fans will forever remember him as part of the six-member group as the sarcastic joker Chandler. His jokes were legendary and contributed significantly to the charm of the popular sitcom, which was filmed from 1994 to 2004.
Chandler impersonation always made Adele laugh
The singer also explained that she had never met the mime in person, but still had so many childhood memories with him.
“When I was about twelve years old, one of my friends, Andrew, did the best Chandler impersonation. He always did that to make us laugh. And if one of us was having a bad day or feeling bad, he would just pretend to be Chandler,” Adele said.
Adele found Matthew Perry brave
Most recently, the musician, who has recently stopped drinking alcohol, drew attention to Perry’s openness about his past drug addiction during her show and praised it. “He has been so open about his struggles with addiction and sobriety, which I think is incredibly, incredibly brave,” Adele said.
In his 2022 autobiography, Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing, Perry shared insight into his experiences with alcohol and opioid addiction.
