During last Saturday’s concert the singer, who in the past had already explained that she has one “complicated relationship” with alcoholic beveragestold the audience that after eliminating alcohol from his life she managed to lose nearly 45 pounds. Not only that, during the evening Adele also shared a story with her fans anecdote dating back to the lockdown, which sees her as the protagonist together with four bottles of wine: “I remember when I came here during the Covid, in lockdown. It was 11 and I had four bottles of wine” explained the singer from the stage, clutching a glass of wine in hands. “In 2020 I said I wanted to release my album and instead we were practically all at home drunk”.

Last year, during an interview with CBSAdele had confessed to Oprah Winfrey that she had “stopped drinking” soon after his father’s death, Mark Evans, who passed away in May 2021 at the age of 57 from bowel cancer: “So I stopped drinking. It’s a great way to really get to know yourself,” he explained. The singer had also explained in the past that giving up her alcohol had finally allowed her to be able to make peace with herself, but that it hadn’t always been easy: “I’ve always had a very close relationship with alcohol. I’ve always been fascinated by alcohol. I always wanted to know what was so special about it.”
