Adele interrupts concert to protect fan: “Let him have fun!”

Singer Adele halted her performance on Sunday (27 August) during one of her ‘Weekends with Adele’ shows in Las Vegas to protect a fan from security personnel who wanted to dance standing instead of sitting. In a video posted online, the 35-year-old can be seen stopping the performance of “Water Under The Bridge” so she could draw attention to the excited fan:

Adele fan is harassed by security officers

“What’s going on with that young fan who’s been getting up and being harassed since my performance? What’s going on?” she said into the mic, as seen in the shared clip. After identifying the fan, she turned to security: “Why are you bothering him? Can you please leave him alone?” Then she reassured her admirer: “They won’t bother you anymore, darling. Enjoy the show.”

Addressing the crowd, Adele continued: “Sorry guys. He was harassed throughout the show by security and other people sitting behind him. He’s here to have fun, got it? You are all here to have fun.”

Adele shows civil courage – even during her own concerts

It was not the first time that the Brit interrupted one of her live performances to help fans. In the following video, made during a show in Hyde Park last year, she stopped a song to send security to someone in the crowd:

Adele bucks the trend of throwing artists: “I’ll kill you!”

Elsewhere over the past month, the artist spoke out against the dangerous trend of fans throwing objects at artists on stage:

“Have you noticed how people are forgetting the damn behavior at shows and throwing things on stage? Did you guys see that?” she said in a video posted to TikTok. She continued: “You dare throw anything at me and I’ll fucking kill you! Stop throwing stuff at artists!”

Adele’s latest album, 30, was released in November 2021.
