Adele has long feared the reactions after she canceled her concerts in Las Vegas at the last minute at the beginning of this year. When the singer returned to performing for the first time since that decision, she feared being booed by the public.
By our entertainment editorsCanceling the Las Vegas shows wasn’t easy for Adele: the team had been working on the performances for months and thousands of tickets had been sold. In conversation with Elle Adele tells that she worked for 30 hours straight and then decided to record the video where she told her fans the bad news.
The singer was not behind the show. The set-up was wrong, the decor didn’t suit her and Adele lacked intimacy in the huge theater. So she decided to pull the plug at the last minute.
“The first months after that were very, very tough. I was ashamed,” she told the magazine. “But in the end my confidence grew because it was a very brave thing to do. I think few people would have done the same. I’m proud that I stood up for myself and my artistic work.”
Adele did not dare to promote her album after the announcement 30 and even has an unreleased music video. Before her first performance after the cancellation, she was very nervous. Adele expected the public to be angry. “But I received so much love and it almost made me cry. It felt weird after disappointing so many people.”
The singer has worked hard together with a team on a new stage design, which, according to her, makes it look more intimate. Adele is now happy with the concept. “I want to tell my story: where my career started and where I am now. I don’t give too much away, but the show is growing. It’s about the music and it’s very nostalgic. It’s going to be beautiful.”
Adele will be in Las Vegas from November 2022 to March 2023.
