Businesses in retail and catering can now have additional costs offset by 2G controls and hope for advance payments. Balancing the effort for the controls was an initiative of several federal states, including Berlin.
“It is already possible to apply for the bridging aid,” said Berlin’s Economics Senator Stephan Schwarz. The interface between the federal government and, in Schwarz’s case, the Investment Bank Berlin is still being established, said the Senator. “But you don’t have to wait for that, they exist Possibility to get deductions from the federal government after an initial examination,” said Schwarz. “That’s the deal.”
The following applies to the Corona bridging aid for small and medium-sized companies: Companies that have at least a 30 percent drop in sales compared to the month of 2019 can have up to 90 percent of their eligible fixed costs offset. The federal government then pays a subsidy. “And the additional personnel costs for the controls can be offset against the fixed costs,” said Schwarz. “I think that’s a little help in a very, very difficult situation.”
The offer of help is primarily aimed at specialist retailers, not the entire retail industry, said Schwarz – in food retail, for example, no 2G controls are necessary. “It’s also an option for gastronomy, but it won’t play such a big role there.” (dpa)
