After 20 games

Patrick Kluivert is no longer coach at Süper Lig club Adana Demirspor. The club confirmed this on Monday evening after the “DHA” news agency, among others, had previously reported on it. The Dutchman only took over in the summer from Vincenzo Montella, who was fired and has since been appointed Turkish national coach. The separation took place “by mutual agreement”.
In 20 games, the 47-year-old averaged 1.5 points per game with the sixth most valuable team in the league. Adana missed qualification for European business and the Conference League at the end of August. In the league, Kluivert only suffered three defeats, compared to six wins and five draws. After 14 match days, Adana is in fifth place in the table.
After the most recent defeat against Samsunspor at the weekend, the former Oranje and Cameroon assistant coach was still combative: “It was a disappointing result for us, but I don’t shy away from criticism. I’m always open to it and take responsibility.” Adana Demirspor was Kluivert’s first head coach position at club level.
