The leader of Barcelona en Comú and former mayor of Barcelona, Ada Colauhas not ruled out leaving Barcelona City Council in an interview on ‘Hora 25’, a SER programme.
In this interview, he revealed that would not be part of Jaume Collboni’s executive, since in one of the questions he was asked if he would enter the municipal government. His response has been confusing: “Now the important thing is to defend the content. I’ve had enough chargeWhat I do have is a commitment to the city project that we have promoted”.
Colau has emphasized her role as the first woman mayor of the great capital, as well as the pride in the city model that has promoted. Likewise, he trusts that after the general elections Collboni will propose to Barcelona en Comú a pact to enter the municipal government, where ERC would also enter, in order to guarantee progressive policies and budgets.
“I do not say who has to be inside or outside the governmentI say that the agreement with ERC has to exist”, and on whether she personally would join the City Council, she replied that she would consult with her formation and has insisted that what is important is the content of the agreement.
Insulted in demonstrations
Asked about the Desokupa demonstration against the occupied buildings La Ruïna and El Kubo, in which there were shouts of ‘Puta Colau’, she stated: “Let those people shout at me, specifically sexist insultsThat in itself didn’t surprise me. What surprised and hurt me the most is that it normalized.”and has regretted not receiving expressions of solidarity from other parties.
