Linnea Leino defended culture in her acceptance speech.
At this year’s Jussi gala, the new screen light spot statue was awarded for the first time.
According to the official website of the Jussi galathe nomination for “light spot of the screen” can be given to an actor who has touched, delighted, scared, cried, provoked or entertained, especially in his film role or roles of that year.
The prize came to be distributed Mari Rantasila and it was assigned to Linnea Leino, who in 2022 appeared in three different films: Girls girls girls, Puntkomedia, Heroes of the Arctic Circle 4.
Leino thanked his loved ones, friends, colleagues and family. He said that without the people around him, he wouldn’t have the chance to be a bright spot.,
In his acceptance speech, the actor took a stand on the heated debate in recent days, in which Riikka Purra, the chairperson of the Basic Finns, called culture a luxury product, which, according to Purra, costs too much money.
Leino denies this claim. He declares that culture is not really a luxury product.
