Depp has sued his ex-wife for defamation, actress Amber Heardin35.
In 2018, Heard wrote a newspaper article in which he covered his experiences of intimate partner violence.
Depp is not mentioned in the article by name, but he feels he has lost his career because of the article. In his own words, Depp feels he has changed from “Cinderella to Quasimodo”.
Depp said at the trial that his childhood was traumatic because of the abusive mother. He claims the marriage with Heard reflected this childhood experience and accuses his ex-wife of bullying.
Depp denies having used violence. At the trial, she described the ex-couple’s physical fights and said, among other things, that she had found feces in her bed shortly before the divorce proceedings began.

Depp is demanding $ 50 million in damages from Heard for defamation.
Heard is demanding $ 100 million from Depp.
