Actress Iida-Maria Heinonen works a lot. In his free time, he enjoys winter cycling, for example, but social media is not his thing.
Actor Iida-Maria Heinonen, 35, stars in the second season of the Pohjola laki series. When Heinonen was preparing for the role of Eeva Benson in the first season, he watched trials, among other things.
– In Finland, they are much more restrained and casual than I expected. Really matter-of-fact and respectful towards all parties, Heinonen describes.
Heinonen points out that the TV series is of course built on the terms of drama.
Heinonen’s last year was full of work. At the end of the year, he finished shooting the comedy series Kiitos lämä.
– You often stop at work and think, “wow, I would never have thought that I would get to act with him”. For example, in the Pohjola laki series, I love all the supporting actors, but I find acting especially fulfilling Anu Sinisalon with the difficult relationship between mother and daughter. It feels like you can learn endlessly from the co-actors and directors, Heinonen is happy.
– I also understand how rare a delicacy this is. A privilege of very few. It will not be forgotten, Heinonen says.
Heinonen finds balance at work by immersing himself in books or puzzles, for example.
– When there is a lot of work, I try to do quite a lot of restorative and calming things. I’ve also been really into winter cycling. I have a good bike and decent tires, Heinonen says.

Instead, Heinonen avoids immersing himself in smartphones and social media. He has a Nokia 3310 stick model at his disposal, and he only opens the smartphone when necessary.
– Many people say that they don’t have the same opportunity because they are connected to social media through work or relationships. I tried Instagram for a while, but it’s not my way of keeping in touch. It has worked well this way, Heinonen laughs.
Heinonen joined Instagram when his friend opened an account for him.
– The messages and contacts were really positive. There was nothing more dramatic than that. However, for me it takes more than it gives, says Heinonen.
The Instagram experiment lasted almost a year.
– It’s an act of well-being for myself that I’m not there, Heinonen smiles.
