Two actors from the Netflix series The Chosen One have been killed in a car accident. According to the entertainment site Deadline The accident took place in Mexico on Thursday. Raymundo Garduño Cruz and Juan Francisco González Aguilar did not survive the crash. Six other passengers were injured.
The accident happened on a desert road near Mulege on the Baja California Sur Peninsula. For unknown reasons, the van in which the film crew was sitting overturned. The crew was filming in nearby Santa Rosalia. After the shooting, they were on their way to an airport nearby.
The Chosen One is about a twelve-year-old boy who believes he is destined to save humanity. Netflix itself speaks of a main character who can “turn water into wine and possibly also bring the dead back to life.” The series is based on the comic books by Mark Millar and Peter Gross.
Deadline reports that the production of the series has been temporarily interrupted. The condition of the injured crew members is stable. Netflix has not yet commented on the accident.
