Emmerdale actor Richard Franklin has died.

British actress Richard Franklin has died at the age of 87, reports a British newspaper The Guardian.
Franklin died in his sleep on Christmas morning. It was said that he had been ill for a long time. His family’s messaging service X reported about it.
– We are deeply saddened by his loss, we fondly remember him for his generosity, creative spirit and fantastic storytelling.
Franklin made his breakthrough on television in 1969 in a series called Crossroads. In addition, he is remembered from the Doctor Who television series, as well as from the Emmerdale series. In Emmerdale he played a businessman named Denis Rigg from 1988 to 1989. Franklin also starred in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in 2016.
In the 60s, he studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, which is considered one of the best schools in the field.
