Actor Mikko Töyssy is also a physical education instructor by profession

Actor Mikko Töyssy stars in the new Puntikomedia film together with Iina Kuustonen.

Actor Mikko Töyssy trained for the filming of Punttikomedia Jari “Bull” Mentulan at the gym in Tampere. A diet and training program suitable for his role character, i.e. a body builder of reasonable size, was designed for him.

Töyssy says that it was as if he was transported through the labyrinths of the bodybuilding world when he absorbed information about the sport and its practitioners with his coach. However, like her co-star Iina Kuustonen, she didn’t have to get in competitive shape.

– I played a former top bodybuilder. Now was not the time for my bikini fitness, she laughs.

He says that his character Vili is a combination of many well-known bodybuilders. According to Töyssy, the entire Punttikomedia was originally inspired by a well-known Finnish professional bodybuilder Marko Savolainen of life.

– Still, I didn’t exactly target anyone. There were many different people that I combined when I thought about what this Vili could be like.

Mikko Töyssy has also worked as a physical education instructor. Jenni Gästgivar

When Töyssy trained at Mentula’s gym, he learned that a bodybuilder only starts work when he feels pain in the muscle. To the former physical education instructor, it seemed like a bad thing, because according to his own teachings, it went the opposite way.

– From those times, I remember that when we went to the gym and started to feel pain or burning in the muscle, it started to tingle. Didn’t go for that pain.

However, his character Vili’s muscles explode during the first minutes of the film, and the person appears to be quite cold anyway: he lives in the back room of the gym and at the beginning stubbornly opposes many things, such as bikini fitness. Despite everything, the character has a human and lovable side.

– I could go training with Vili. However, it may be that we would have to apply for a little chemistry at the beginning. It should have quite a filter on it, he laughs.

Punt comedy in cinemas on October 21. The movie is directed by Aleksi Delikouras and written by Pekko Pesonen.
