South Korean actress Lee Sun-kyun’s a funeral ceremony was held on Friday in Seoul. In addition to the star’s family, the closest friends and colleagues participated in the private event. Due to the funeral, many events had been canceled because Lee’s colleagues wanted to accompany their late colleague on his last journey.

After the event, Lee’s eldest son carried a portrait of the star. Sun-kyun’s actress wife walked behind him, overcome with grief Jeon Hye-jin, who was walking hand in hand with a couple of younger boys. Friends and colleagues followed the procession with tears in their eyes.
The star’s fans had also brought commemorative plaques.
Lee’s urn will be laid in Gwangju Cemetery, about 30 kilometers from Seoul.

Lee Sun-kyun was found dead in his car on Wednesday. Police are investigating the death as a suicide.
Lee’s wife had called the police when the star had left her home and left behind a letter resembling a suicide note. Lee had been suspected of drug offenses and had been interrogated a few times. The matter was widely reported in the South Korean media as well.
South Korea has strict drug laws, and drug offenses are typically sentenced to at least six months in prison.
