The British actor Robbie Coltranefamous for his portrayal of Hagrid in the Harry Potter film saga, He died this Friday at the age of 72reported his agent in a statement.
Coltrane won five Bafta awards from the British Film and Television Academy during his career, three of them consecutively, between 1994 and 1996, for his participation in the series “Cracker”.
He also appeared in the James Bond films ‘GolenEye’ (1995) and ‘The World is not Enough’ (1999), and was appointed in 2006 Officer of the Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II.
“He will probably be remembered for decades as Hagrid from the Harry Potter movies.a role with which he transmitted joy to both children and adults around the world”, for which “I received a barrage of fan letters every week” for more than twenty years, his representative, Belinda Wright, said in a note sent to the media.
The actor’s family conveyed in that statement their gratitude to the staff of the Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Lambert (Scotland), for their “care and diplomacy”.

British actor Stephen Fry paid tribute to the Coltrane’s “depth, power and talent”. “Goodbye old friend. We will miss you terribly,” he said on Twitter.
