Actor and screenwriter Bradley Cooper has received fierce criticism for the film Maestro, which he directed and wrote, in which he also plays the lead role.

Cooper plays an American in the film West side story -composer-conductor Leonard Bearnstein, whose parents were Ukrainian Jews. The actor’s artificial nose has been criticized as reinforcing the stereotype that Jews have big noses.

The family of the late composer Bearnstein is defending Cooper on social media, because they think the discussion about the nose is pointless.
