Activists have defaced the Forum for Democracy office on Herengracht. The word ‘fascist’ can be read both on the door and on the sidewalk. There is also a banner with ‘Baudet heart of Putin’.
There was a note from the activists next to the graffiti on the sidewalk. “By sabotage of the FVD office, we want to throw sand in the propaganda machine of the FVD. This is the propaganda of fascism and recently also the propaganda of dictator Putin in the Kremlin.” It can also be read that the locks of the building have been destroyed. The letter is signed by ‘Amsterdammers against war and fascism’.
Demonstration
The graffiti took place after the final debate for the municipal elections, to which FVD was not invited to its own dismay. The party therefore demonstrated on Leidseplein, where a counter-demonstration also took place.
The party has often been the target of activists. For example, in January a paint bomb was thrown against the building. In 2018, the windows of De Rode Hoed debate center were smashed because a party lecture was taking place there. The house of Forum leader Thierry Baudet has also been daubed several times.
