The municipality of Kortemark is also opposed to the arrival of PFAS-containing soil from the Oosterweel works in Antwerp. Because the judge does not order the immediate closure of the landfill, Silvamo can continue for at least another four months. Flemish Minister Zuhal Demir will re-examine the permit and also states that there are no acute risks to the health of local residents or to the environment.
