Action at Food Summit: “Farmers are desperately needed”

Farmers, agricultural organizations and organizations from the food sector distributed around 3,000 sandwiches at various locations in Roeselare. In this way they put Flemish agriculture and horticulture and the entire food sector in the spotlight. “Farmers are desperately needed. Without us there would be no strong Flemish food sector, no local food policy and no bread on our plate. Our farmers and horticulturists not only produce top quality food, but also do so to the very highest sustainability standards.” they say. “We make up half a percent of the population, but with that half percent we provide 100 percent of the population with sustainable food.
