According to the saying – Julian Nagelsmann visits the fire station for a discussion

The trainer of the German record champions caused discussions with a comment about the volunteer fire brigade Süd-Giesing. Now there was a discussion – directly on site.

Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann visited the volunteers at Fire Station 4 in Munich-Schwabing after his unfortunate “fire brigade” statement. The Munich coach again apologized for his formulation in the past week.

“My statement about the volunteer fire brigade in the press conference last week was worded unhappily. I never wanted to discredit the volunteer fire brigade or any volunteer helper,” Nagelsmann wrote on Monday after his visit to social media.

Before the top game against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday (3-1), the 34-year-old said to motivate his team: “We’re not with the volunteer fire brigade in southern Giesing, we’re with FC Bayern Munich.”

“Of course we accept your apology”

On Monday, Nagelsmann made it clear that his statement was “purely about the word voluntary”: “Even before the visit, it was clear to me what an important role each individual volunteer plays and how important volunteering is.”

During Nagelsmann’s visit, the volunteer fire brigade simulated an operation in which people were rescued from a burning building. Nagelsmann also climbed 30 meters with the turntable ladder vehicle. The FCB master coach also presented the emergency services with a Bayern jersey with the emergency number 112.

“Of course we accept your apology and appreciate that you took the time for us on site,” said Claudius Blank, city fire officer and commander of the Munich volunteer fire brigade, in the direction of Nagelsmann.
