According to Killer Mike, André 3000 is working on a new album

André 3000 has already played some new songs to Killer Mike. When these might appear remains unclear.

Killer Mike was a guest on the show Sway In The Morning on Tuesday (June 20) to talk about his new album MICHAEL, among other things. During the conversation, the Atlanta rapper hinted that André 3000 could have a new album in the starting blocks.

The two share a common past: They are part of the artist collective Dungeon Family. OutKast, the rap duo consisting of André 3000 and Big Boi, helped Mike get his career off the ground. On the MICHAEL track “SCIENTS & ENGINEERS” “Dre” is also featured as a guest alongside Future and Eryn Allen Kane.

André 3000’s feature on Killer Mike’s new record

When asked how the feature came about with Three Stacks, Killer Mike replied, “I called him about the album [MICHAEL] to hear with him. It’s important to me that he and Big [Boi] like the stuff I do.” André eventually invited him over to his house, where the OutKast rapper played him “nine or ten new songs.” He then asked Killer Mike to “pick something he likes” and work with it. “During the past decade I’ve had songs of mine for him on and off […] sent. He was always like, ‘Man, this shit is really good, but I don’t feel like rapping right now,'” Mike continued. The joy was all the greater when André gave him not one, but two parts of him. One can currently be heard on “SCIENTS & ENGINEERS”, for the other we have to be patient. “We have another awesome track coming out soon,” said the 48-year-old.

Show host Sway Calloway read between the lines and semi-jokingly said, “From what I hear, Dre has an album in the pipeline.” Killer Mike said yes, before adding, “I think we’re going to fly over there in a couple of weeks to hear it.” André 3000 himself has neither confirmed nor denied the rumors.
