Storm talent in the Gladbach focus
Last summer’s transfer window, Dion Drena Beljo was linked with a move from NK Osijek to Borussia Mönchengladbach. According to “Sky”, there was a basic agreement between the 20-year-old center forward and the “foals” – however, his current employer called for a transfer fee of over 6 million euros, which is why a deal did not come about, they say. A transfer model that would include a third club was also under discussion. Beljo now spoke to the TV station about a transfer to the Bundesliga.

A change this winter seems absolutely conceivable for him. “If something very interesting should come up now, why not? I’m ready for the next step. But I won’t rush anything. If there are no suitable options in winter, I will continue to work hard on myself and do everything I can to be successful with Osijek,” said the Croatian attacking talent.
Market value winner Beljo only hears good things about the Bundesliga – the goal is EM 2024
Beljo, who has a contract until 2025, has made 11 goals in 19 games in all competitions this season. Most recently, the Zagreb-born professional increased his market value from €4.5m to €6.5m, making him one of the most valuable players in the Croatian SuperSport HNL. Beljo said his next goal has not yet been decided. “We’ll see. But it’s clear that sooner or later I’m confident that I’ll be able to move to the Bundesliga. It’s a great league to develop as a young player like me. I only hear good things about the Bundesliga.”
He did not want to comment directly on Gladbach’s interest in the summer. Beljo only wants to deal with things if they are really concrete. The left-footed player has made seven appearances (one goal) for the Croatia U21 national team. But that’s not all – the A-Team is his dream. “First of all, I want to play the European Championship with the U21s next year. I have to prove myself. Then I set myself new goals. In 2024 I would like to represent Croatia at the European Championships in Germany. I’ll do everything I can for that,” explained Beljo.
