Soccer superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic has returned to the pitch after a nine-month injury break.
AC Milan’s exceptional striker came on for Olivier Giroud in the 74th minute of the 2-0 (1-0) win against Atalanta Bergamo on Sunday evening and was greeted with loud cheers by the Milan fans in San Siro.
The 41-year-old Swede had an operation at the end of May, shortly after winning the Scudetto. The procedure was intended to stabilize the left knee, which had caused the attacker major problems at the end of the previous season.
During his break, Ibrahimovic had extended his contract until June 2023 last summer. What his future holds after the season is unclear. The offensive player has not scored in a competitive game since January 9, 2022.
