Contracts expired
It took longer than initially thought, but now it’s official: The Italian champions AC Milan will continue to be managed by the technical director, club legend Paolo Maldini and sporting director Frederic Massara. The Rossoneri officially announced the extension of the contracts with the duo, which had been working together since 2019, until 2024 on Friday evening.
“This deal underscores the importance of continuity we see across the club as we continue to strengthen and grow,” the statement said.
The extension was delayed, among other things, by the takeover of Milan by the investment company “RedBird Capital” from the “Elliott” fund, which was fixed after the end of the season. The announcement of the first player transfers by the traditional club is now expected. Striker Divock Origi (27), who is free of charge after his contract with Liverpool FC expires, has already completed the medical check.
