Three Tilburg residents were arrested on Tuesday morning because they are suspected of assaulting a man during carnival.
Two of the three were arrested at their home. The third turned out to be already stuck. The three men are 16, 19 and 20 years old.
They would have walked on the Heuvelring in Tilburg on February 26 around 23.30 and made a comment to a man in a carnival costume. That man couldn’t appreciate that and reacted to it. Before he knew it, he had taken several blows.
Recognized on camera images
The victim suffered injuries to his face. He spoke to a patrol officer, but the perpetrators had already flown in by then. A few days later, the victim filed a police report. The incident turned out to be camera images, on which one of the suspects was recognized. Officers who regularly work in the center recognized the others because they are part of a group that the police say they deal with more often.
The three suspects are being questioned.
