Absurd final phase Jong Volendam, AFC victory and a draw for Royal HFC

A few minutes before the end, Jong FC Volendam seemed to be playing the same game at Kozak Boys. Late goals averted that scenario. AFC defeated Scheveningen in the seaside resort and Koninklijke HFC got no further than a goalless draw against TEC.

It took a while before the goals were scored when Jong Volendam visited Kozak Boys, but they fell at a rapid pace in the last fifteen minutes. Lequincio Zeefuik opened the scoring after just over thirty minutes. On a pass from Jordi Blom, Tayrell Wouter doubled the margin a few minutes later: 0-2. Zeefuik then got the chance to close the game, but he missed a penalty after hands by Kaj Ramsteijn.

The home team then revived and equalized before half time via Johnny Lommers and Tarik Fagrach: 2-2. In the second half, the goals came again in the last fifteen minutes. Koen Blommesteijn headed the ball behind goalkeeper Mike van de Meulenhof after 74 minutes: 2-3. Frenk Kitchens equalized five minutes before the end, after which Blommestijn and Wouter Volendam still gave the victory: 3-5.

Loss in title fight

In the first fifteen minutes HFC had more ball possession without creating great opportunities. Wessel Boer was unable to hit the ball well from a corner. A few minutes later a corner kick again created danger, the attack on TEC defenders stranded out of a mess.

In the final phase of the match, the team from Haarlem had a great chance via Roy Castien, but this was turned down by goalkeeper Mathijs Swaneveld. The visitors from Tiel became dangerous in the final minutes. This time, Mitchel Michaelis, keeper of HFC, was a bummer. That made it 0-0.

Due to the draw, Katwijk is two points ahead of HFC. The gap on the leader is six points for the team of Gertjan Tamerus.

The top scorer headed in a corner from close range: 1-1. In the end it was defender Dalian Maatsen who secured the victory via a free kick: 1-2.

AFC is joint fifth with Rijnsburgse Boys, which surprisingly lost to GVV.
