Hamburg’s online fashion retailer About You is once again collaborating with a prominent professional athlete. On Monday, the company introduced the new streetwear collection “Kingsley Coman co-created by About You”. Together with the 26-year-old French national soccer player, who is under contract with FC Bayern Munich, the clothing supplier has developed a capsule collection comprising a total of 36 products, which is now available exclusively in all About You online stores.
Sofia Hagemeier, Head of Exclusive Cooperations at About You, explained the background to the collaboration: “Kingsley not only stands out with its sporting success story, but also with its passion for fashion design. Because of that, he immediately caught our eye for a potential collaboration,” she said in a statement. “Through his previous experience in the fashion industry with his own brand, Kingsley knew exactly what he wanted from his About You collection and what it should look like. We are convinced that the relaxed fits and cool prints will delight football fans across Europe.”
About You says it has been working closely with Coman’s employer Bayern Munich for the past year. The online retailer and the football club launched the joint unisex brand FCBM last October. The label’s second collection should now be available from May 3rd at About You as well as in the online store and in the fan shop of the German men’s soccer record champion. The association also uses e-commerce technology from Scayle, About You’s B2B division, for its own retail business.
