Grigor Dimitrov is the first semi-finalist at the tennis tournament in Rotterdam. The Bulgarian was too strong for Kazakh Aleksandr Shevchenko in three sets at the ABN Amro Open: 7-6 (2) 3-6 6-4.
Afterwards, Dimitrov was happy with another place in the last four in Ahoy, but knows he has to improve. “I don’t want to do him justice, but my game wasn’t very good today. I feel like I made a lot of unnecessary mistakes and I know that my level has to increase tomorrow,” Dimitrov told the ATP.
The current number 13 in the world, who won the Brisbane tournament at the beginning of this year, usually feels comfortable in Rotterdam. In 2018 he already reached the final, where he lost to Roger Federer.
If the in-form Dimitrov wants to reach the final again, he must beat the Australian Alex de Minaur or the Russian Andrei Rublev on Saturday. They will meet each other later on Friday in their quarter-final match.
