Abercrombie & Fitch raises annual forecasts again

As with numerous competitors, Christmas business at the US clothing group Abercrombie & Fitch Co. went better than expected. In advance of a conference with investors and analysts, the company increased its forecasts for the current 2023/24 financial year once again on Monday.

Management now expects a sales increase of 14 to 15 percent for the fiscal year that runs until the end of January. Growth of twelve to 14 percent was previously expected. The forecast for the operating margin, which had previously been around ten percent, was increased to around eleven percent.

The clothing supplier announced that all of the Group’s brands achieved “solid sales growth” in the Christmas business. This was particularly true for the women’s fashion collections: the company expects record sales in the women’s wear segment of the core brand Abercrombie & Fitch for the fourth quarter. In addition, the Hollister division increased its revenues thanks to strong demand for women’s clothing, according to a statement.
