Abercrombie & Fitch and ex-CEO accused of sexual exploitation

Clothing brand Abercrombie & Fitch and its former CEO Mike Jeffries are being sued by several models. As the Reuters news agency reports, the company and the former top manager are accused of sexual exploitation. The allegations came to light at the beginning of the month, but legal action has now been taken.

Mike Jeffries was the CEO of Abercrombie & Fitch from 1992 to 2014. The indictment states that Jeffries demanded that the models take drugs and perform sexual acts on Jeffries and others. In return, the models were given a place in the Abercrombie & Fitch catalogs. Jeffries is said to have used his position as CEO of the company to lure men to his home and invite them to “castings”.

At the beginning of the month, Abercrombie & Fitch told the BBC news agency that it was shocked and “disgusted by the alleged misconduct.”

Jeffries is considered controversial. Back in 2015, he was sued by former employees because he only hired employees who were “the right body type” and visually attractive.
