Abba commemorates Olivia Newton-John with photo from the golden days

With three photos on Instagram from a joint TV appearance, Abba remembered Olivia Newton-John, who died on August 8th. In 1978 the Swedes played the two Beach Boys classics “Help Me, Rhonda” and “Barbara Ann” together with Newton-John and the Bee Gees musician Andy Gibb. The meeting was broadcast on ABC, Newton-John had just landed a global hit with “Grease” in cinemas.

The two Abba singers Frida and Agnetha also reported in the post with personal words. “What do you feel, what can you say when the nicest, most polite and loving woman leaves us to travel on?” says Frida. “The heart aches to think that Olivia fought an invincible foe.”

Agnetha: So sad to hear of Agnetha’s death. A good man has left us. And many of us will mourn them.”

Abba met Olivia Newton-John in Brighton in 1974, at the Grand Prix Eurovision de la Chanson. At that time she started for her country of birth England and was with “Long Live Love”. Fourth.
