LeuvenBrewer AB InBev will fill half a million water cans in its largest European brewery in Leuven. The brewer will transport the cans to border checkpoints in Poland and Moldova with Ukraine. The departure of the cans is planned for the middle of next week.

AB InBev has a large presence in both Ukraine and Russia: a total of 14 breweries and 5,370 employees. “We remain in close contact with our 1,800 colleagues in Ukraine and are doing everything in our power to support them and their families and ensure their safety and well-being as much as possible. We understand from our colleagues that the situations at the borders present many challenges and we want to help where we can,” said Jason Warner, Zone President AB InBev Europe.

Jason Warner is proud of the emotional support and care throughout his team. “From Russia to the Canary Islands, colleagues support each other in these difficult times,” he continues. “This is a true expression of our corporate culture and reinforces the awareness that we are one big family at AB InBev. Our strength lies in our diversity, which transcends all political differences.”

In the Stella Artois brewery in Leuven, half a million cans will be filled with drinking water in the coming days. In the middle of next week they will be transported to checkpoints in Poland and Moldova on the border with Ukraine. “We believe that brewers have a positive impact on society. We do this by helping where we can and by switching our can line from beer to water,” says Alexander Soenen, brewery manager Leuven. “The rapid conversion of our brewery is impressive. We already did this on a smaller scale during the floods in the Liège region, which affected our colleagues at the Jupille brewery, among others. Now we also help across national borders. The commitment is huge.”
