A familiar character returns to the imaginary Pihlajakatu series of the Secret Lives series.

Twelve years ago an actor Aarni Kivinen became known to the general public about the role of Panu Kaukovaara in Salkkari. The past years Aarni has worked as an actor both in the theater and on the television side, and this spring he will be seen again in familiar circles on Pihlajakatu.
– It was a great pleasure to come back to Pihlajakatu for a long time! In times like these, it is gratifying to have a job in your field, Kivinen says in his voice.
Surprising twists and turns
Although the filming of the Secret Lives series recently became very familiar, the actor admits that returning to a familiar studio was exciting.
– But as soon as I arrived, I noticed that there were a lot of familiar people, and all the places were almost the same. The mood was the same as before.
When Kivi was asked to return to the series after years and the schedules gave in, he quickly responded in the affirmative. However, he did not know in advance what kind of twists and turns Panu Kaukovaara will end up in the middle of this spring.
– In Salkkari, every scene is always its own mischief, when doing so is so lively here. The scripts sometimes come in scenes that I didn’t even remember how surprising the plot twists can be for an actor as well.

Kivinen cannot reveal details of the twists and turns in the middle of which his character in Salkkari ends up, but the actor dares to give a small clue.
– After a 12-year break, Panu will be looking at other people as a thing for his children. As viewers know, he has not terribly kept in touch with them or been present in their lives.
Highlights
In Kivinen’s career, Secret Lives has been one of the work projects after which Finns have identified him on the streets. He believes this is because people of all ages watch the series.
– And, of course, it also seems that Salkkarit comes on TV every day. Probably some remember me, for example, from the series of sketches years ago or from more recent drama series, but they may have been followed by slightly more limited age groups.
There are several work projects that are particularly relevant to the actor himself.
– The Ugrilampaat series was once the one that taught me the most, as I was involved in both the role of actor and screenwriter, and that was the first time I worked with cameras. For me, I have received a lot of routine for my work from the Salkkari and Roba police series.
Kivinen values the fact that he has been able to visit several different TV series over the years.
– All pops are always interesting and expand the professionalism. I like to throw myself into new projects, and I’m glad I’ve been able to do so many different things with different teams in my career.
My bar
In addition to Salkkare, Kivinen will be seen in the Rauma Theater’s play Pirtumiehet in the spring, and in the summer he will be involved in the cast of the Imatra Summer Theater. In addition to creating a career in acting, Kivinen is also a restaurateur.
– A couple of years ago, we established the Linna Bar restaurant in Suomenlinna. It’s the kind of local cupcake, and I’m really glad we still exist, because the pandemic started just when we opened it.
For an actor who has lived in Suomenlinna for more than 20 years, music is also an important part of life. One indication of this is his band Suomenlinna pickles.
– We’ve made three records, but the band doesn’t make us terribly busy. But it keeps the mind even more refreshed!
