‘Aa and Hunze must tackle illegal closure of Grolloo’

The municipality of Aa en Hunze must act against Joytime in Grolloo. That is what Platform Keelbos thinks, an interest group that is committed to gay meeting places. According to the platform, Joytime regularly illegally closes an access road to the Kleine Moere with a barrier.

The platform writes this in a letter to the board of B and W in Aa and Hunze. It is a road from the Oostereind to the Boerhaarsweg. According to Platform Keelbos, this is a public road and Joytime is not allowed to close it.

Platform Keelbos also raised this point six years ago. Then Staatsbosbeheer indicated that the road was rented to recreation company Joytime as a parking lot, and that Joytime is allowed to close the parking lot with a barrier.

That’s the platform against the sore leg. According to them, visitors to the area who are not active at Joytime are excluded from a parking option for their cars.

At the time, the municipality announced that it would refrain from enforcement, because there was a prospect of legalization. Now that this has still not been legalized six years later, Platform Keelbos still wants Aa and Hunze to enforce it. According to the organization, the barrier must be removed.
