The A73 between Cuijk and Haps will be closed on Friday evening towards Venlo because a truck has been jacked up. The driver was trapped and was freed by the fire brigade. Earlier in the evening, the entire highway was closed because the road was littered with debris.
It is unclear how the trapped driver is doing. He was taken to hospital by ambulance. The cause of the accident is still unclear and is being investigated by the police.
Many emergency services responded to the accident. An air ambulance also landed on the highway surface.
Detour
It is not yet known at ten o’clock when the road will be free again, Rijkswaterstaat reports. For the time being, traffic heading south from the Ewijk junction is being diverted. You can take a detour via Eindhoven via the A50, A2 and A67.
