The A17 from Dordrecht towards Roosendaal was closed around half past six on Wednesday morning due to a burning crane truck at the Noordhoek junction, between Oudenbosch and Zevenbergen. Rijkswaterstaat hopes that the road can be opened around noon.
The closure led to a traffic jam from the Moerdijk industrial estate around a quarter to seven in the morning.
Traffic heading towards Roosendaal is advised to drive via Breda, on the A16 and the A58. Because it is a large vehicle, a heavy recovery company was called in to move the crane truck.
Ambulance
The driver of the crane truck was checked by ambulance personnel, but did not need to be taken to hospital.
