A year of Taliban in power in Afghanistan: ‘Human rights are being taken away from entire population’

The radical Islamist Taliban has ruled Afghanistan for another year on Monday. The movement was able to take power on August 15, 2021, after much of the capital Kabul came under its control. In the president’s palace, representatives of the Islamic fundamentalists proclaimed victory. Then-President Ashraf Ghani left the country the same day.
