The time trial from Elche to Alicante will mark the beginning of some definitive days

Stage 15 will have pure mountain from Martos to the mountains

The second week of La Vuelta a España 2022 will bring with it a succession of decisive days for the final classification of the general classification, going from individual time trials to very hard mountain stages to finish in the dark ascent to the Sierra Nevada.

Stage 10. Elche – Alicante

The second time trial will be individual and completely flat, over 30 kilometers. The favorites for the general should have no problems at this stage, while those with a more climbing profile could find themselves in a bind.

Stage 11. ElPozo Alimentación – Cabo de Gata

Stage with some slope, in which the sprinters should take the opportunity to put their teams to work, but without scoring difficulties, which anticipates a massive arrival.

Stage 12. Salobreña – Peñas Blancas (Estepona)

The peloton will travel from end to end of the province of Malaga in a completely flat stage until the final climb to Peñas Blancas.

Stage 13. Ronda – Montilla

The first half of the stage will be somewhat winding, while the second part will be completely flat. The sprinters could see themselves punished due to the fatigue accumulated in Peñas Blancas. Watch out for the heat.

Stage 14. Montoro – Sierra de La Pandera

This stage has two clearly differentiated parts: one smoother and the other with constant climbs. For the platoon’s escape to be effective, it will have to be settled before reaching La Pandera. This climb will test climbers as it is harder than it looks due to its narrow road and rough asphalt.

Stage 15. Martos – Sierra Nevada. Upper Hoya de la Mora. Monachil

Pure mountain route with more than 4,000 meters of accumulated difference in altitude, where the heat will undoubtedly be one of the protagonists of the day. It is a long and demanding port, which already shone in the 2017 Vuelta.
