The first full month of autumn is here: October. Will we get autumnal weather in Zoetermeer this month or will the Indian summer continue?

Can we still walk through the Burgemeester Hoekstrapark or Westerpark with an open coat, or is it time for a scarf? Jaco van Wezel van WeerOnline.nl gives the weather forecast for October: “Autumn is slowly gaining steam and in the first half of the month the temperature is often still around 20 degrees.”
Fluctuating temperatures
Jaco: “The temperature fluctuates considerably in early October. The first days are warm with maximum temperatures of 20 degrees on the Wadden to 26 degrees in Limburg. The temperature then drops to below 20 degrees under the influence of a cooler westerly wind. However, the warm south to southwest wind seems to soon return, with temperatures rising again towards 20 degrees. The nights are also mild with minimum temperatures usually between 10 and 15 degrees. The winter coat is therefore not necessary for the time being.”
Autumn holiday in Zoetermeer
And what kind of weather will we get during the autumn holidays in Zoetermeer? According to Jaco, we should take showers and cooler temperatures into account. During clear and windless nights, frost can occur and the chance of fog also increases.
Jaco: “At the end of October it is normally 13 to 14 degrees during the day and about 6 degrees at night. A warm coat is not an unnecessary luxury and the windows may have to be scratched.”
Weather model uncertainty

Jaco makes an important comment on the forecast for the second half of October: “There is great uncertainty in the weather models. The chance of normal changeable autumn weather is greatest, but there are also drier options.”
