A vision of sustainability and responsibility in the fashion industry

It’s far more than just a logo: CINQUE Cares. The sustainable initiative of the fashion company CINQUE goes beyond the usual buzzwords and demonstrates a profound understanding of the complex relationship between fashion, economy, environment and society. The CINQUE Cares program represents a comprehensive commitment to minimizing the negative effects of the fashion industry and promoting transparency in one’s own activities.

Sustainability in the production process

Respectful use of resources, our planet and people are at the heart of CINQUE’s sustainability promise. The company uses its influence to bring sustainability to the forefront of both the industry and its customers. The combination of quality and sustainability is expressed in the value chain. CINQUE works with experts who make no compromises when it comes to quality and workmanship. The company ensures transparency and high quality through detailed control of the entire value chain, from the selection of materials to sale.

The collections, whether for women or men, leisure or business, radiate a casual aesthetic without overstraining the boldness of fashion. Sustainability is also reflected in the choice of materials: CINQUE uses cotton from the Better Cotton Initiative and recycled materials such as down or polyester. Real fur, angora, exotic animals and materials from endangered species are taboo. Leather is only used as a by-product of the food industry. Products that don’t sell aren’t destroyed, but are given multiple sales opportunities and eventually donated.

Environmental protection and social commitment

When it comes to environmental protection, CINQUE follows the “less is more” approach. The company relies on green electricity, alternative solutions such as a partly electric vehicle fleet and minimizes the consumption of finite resources. In addition, delivery routes are shortened by production in Europe and means of transport with a low CO2 footprint are preferred. The packaging is produced with low energy consumption from recycled, recyclable or renewable raw materials and is certified with the green dot. Dangerous and environmentally harmful substances are a no-go for CINQUE – this is ensured by our own Restricted Substances List (RSL), which meets all important internationally recognized environmental standards and legal regulations.

CINQUE is not just a fashion brand, but a family business that upholds values such as trust, fairness and solidarity. Membership of BSCI Amfori ensures good, safe and hygienic working conditions. A non-discriminatory working environment, fair working conditions and a transparent remuneration system are a matter of course. Finally, CINQUE is also socially committed and supports people who are not as fortunate as we are. Together with the artist Theresa Kallrath and the organization Women for Women International, the company started an initiative to support women in 2022.

CINQUE is based on the code of conduct of the German textile and fashion industry and thus offers a framework for responsible corporate action. With CINQUE Cares, the company shows that fashion and sustainability can go hand in hand and sets a benchmark for the entire industry.
