Prince Harry sued the British publication for defamation.
Prince Harry has won the first round of his legal battle against the British publication Mail on Sunday.
The judge stated on Friday that the article published in the newspaper had used words defaming the prince.
The article discussed Harry’s lawsuit against the British authorities after the prince was denied police protection during his visits to the UK. According to the article, Harry had tried to conceal details related to the lawsuit.
Harry sued the publisher of the Mail on Sunday for defamation.
According to the prince’s lawyers, the article was defamatory because it suggested that Harry was trying to manipulate public opinion.
Harry launched legal action in January after the Home Office ruled that his family would not be granted personal protection by the police while they were in Britain, but that a case-by-case consideration would be followed.
Harry and his wife Meghan and their children currently live in California, USA.
